Which Is The Highest Mountain In Africa – Here is a list of the highest mountains in Africa. The aim is to include the highest mountain peaks with a height of at least 500 m. Some regions are still poorly described and the list is probably incomplete and not entirely accurate. This is especially true in the Ethiopian highlands, where the elevation in maps and literature varies up to 500 m. All elevations are checked or selected to match SRTM based control lines on Google Earth maps.

However, climbing remains dangerous due to the high risk of disease – a condition that climbers are exposed to when it develops rapidly and which can be fatal if not treated quickly.
In 1973, the mountain and its six passes surrounding the forest were designated Kilimanjaro National Park to protect its unique habitat. The park was declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1987.
