If you prefer to pedal singletrack instead of sliding on snow, you can usually find dry trails to ride even in the middle of winter in these mountains.

Colorado’s Banana Belt is home to many of the best day trip trails in the Colorado Front Range. Colorado’s Banana Belt runs from the town of Buena Vista along the Arkansas River Valley to Pueblo. Along this belt you’ll find singletrack that stays shockingly dry most of the winter. Of all these trails, Lake Pueblo State Park singletrack is arguably the most reliable mid-winter ride in the state! I’ve included two trail options here: one for riders looking to blast away and one for riders looking to log training miles.
