Horsetooth Reservoir is one of Colorado’s most beautiful outdoor havens, just minutes from Old Town Fort Collins. The lake is a popular recreation area for activities such as fishing, swimming, boating, rowing, sailing, water skiing, hiking and camping. The Garden at Spring Creek has recently been renovated and renovated. Children and adults alike will love the new Butterfly Conservatory, a 1,500-square-foot glass enclosure that is the first and only permanent facility of its kind in northern Colorado. This trolley is the only city in operation in the western United States today. Car 21 was restored to its original condition in 1919 by the volunteer-run Municipal Railway Association, and car 25 was recently unveiled following a 1951 restoration. Simply put, Gary Rock is incredible. This amazing Cache la Poudre River Canyon hike is less than 20 minutes from Old Town Fort Collins. This intermediate hike has two trails: the Meadows Trail (about 7.4 miles round trip) and the Greyrock Summit Trail (about 8.5 miles), both of which offer spectacular views. Elevation gain on this hike is nearly 2,000 feet with a summit of 7,480 feet. This hike is a bit challenging with some rocks at the end. But it’s worth it because it has a great 360 degree view of the Powder River Valley.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Lowry State Park, Arthur’s Rock offers some of the best views of Hursttooth Reservoir and the city of Fort Collins. Arthur’s Rock is a short drive from Fort Collins and is also a short walk away. The road winds through open meadows and bright mountains for about two miles on its way to the top of Arthur’s Rock, which rises to an elevation of 6,780 feet. There are also amazing natural steps that take you to the top of the cliff, which is the perfect place to eat if you’ve packed food.
