We booked United Bus from Denver Airport to Breckenridge and did not rent a car for the trip. When we booked our United Airlines tickets, we booked United Bus service – a convenient addition. Main Street has over 200 shops and 80 restaurants – we love walking around and enjoying the streets! There are also free trolleys if you want to ride. Stop by the Welcome Center to take a self-guided walking tour or sign up for one of the historic tours offered by the Breckenridge Visitor Center.
For the best view of Breckenridge, you have to ride the Breckenridge Gondola, and it’s free! The gondola will take you from Breckenridge to summits 7 and 8 with beautiful views of the mountains.

Dog sledding closes late November – early December We really wanted to go dog sledding but it wasn’t available in early November but we’ll have to go back!
Another way to explore Summit County is by fat bike. You can explore the Nordic Center’s dressage trails as well as snowshoe/croc ski trails in White River National Park. Compared to XC skiing and fat biking, fat biking is an exercise that allows you to explore more of the wilderness thanks to the speed of travel.
Cross-country skiing is another great way to explore Summit County’s beautiful outdoors. Anything that can be explored on snowshoes can be explored on skis.
