Pico de Orizaba rises to 18,491 feet above sea level, making it the highest peak in Mexico. The mountain is located on the border of Puebla and Veracruz and is classified as a quiet volcano. Boats approaching the coast of the Gulf of Mexico can see the top. Gran Glacier Norte, the largest glacier in Mexico, is located on this mountain. Due to its height, the Pico de Orizaba encounters a variety of microclimates from its tropical base to its alpine at higher levels. Popocatepetl stands at 17,749 feet above sea level, making it the second highest peak in Mexico. Like Pico de Orizaba, this mountain is part of the Trans-Mexico volcanic belt. It is located on the border of Puebla, Mexico and Morelos. In the 1990s, climate change and volcanic activity worked together to reduce the size of its largest glacier, Glaciar Norte. The glacier disappeared in early 2001. This is the most active volcano in the country. In 1947 there was a massive explosion. Since then, this activity has been significant, smoke, ash and lava, as well as tremors. Fourteen pagodas were built on the hill during the 16th century. Today, some are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Nevado de Toluca is located about 50 miles west of Mexico City and rises 15,387 feet above sea level. The peak consists of nine separate lakes that are believed to give the Nahuatl peak the name Xinantecatl. A road leading to the lake used to make it the most accessible mountain in the country, although today government officials closed the road about a kilometer before it reached the lake. The volcano on the summit is likely to have been caused by a massive eruption that occurred about 10,500 years ago. Nevado de Toluca has an Arctic climate at its peak with little or no vegetation. Archaeologists have unearthed 18 ceremonial sites used for ceremonies and sacrifices, indicating that the mountains played an important role in the religious practices of the indigenous peoples.

Great and amazing Pico de Orizaba is the kind of orgasm that breathes your breath closer to you. And that feeling gets stronger as you start climbing higher and higher.
Our trip will start in Mexico City. From there we went to Tlachichuca, Puebla. After that we drove 4×4 to the mountain hut in Piedra Grande. From the hut we will take a walk where we will practice using a krama and an ice ax. In addition, during this climb you will have the opportunity to acclimatize properly. After that we go back to the hut where you can eat and sleep.
The next morning we will visit the Pico de Orizaba. When the sun rises, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the landscape around the top of the mountain. The view will improve until it reaches the top. After enjoying the view we will return to Tlachichuca where we will eat before heading back to Mexico City.
Participants in this tour must be in good physical shape. A similar climbing experience is also recommended.

My guide Bernardo was amazing and helpful and experienced and friendly. They can also provide me with vegetarian food and sleeping bags. I have very big feet (US size 14-15 in sneakers) which means normal crampons do not fit my boots ((US size 13). But they managed to make me a pair of crampons that Fit me soon. Let me share this as a testament to their excellent service, but also a guide to give guidance to your guide if your feet are really big. Did not make it to the top, but just because I was tired (tired), the weather and speed were good, it was a challenge for me to climb many mountains in the cold and dark mornings before sunrise, but even though I did not To top it all off, I achieved a lot and personal records were made and a special experience with great views and guidance and the company was always very helpful.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances we did not reach the top of Orizaba and reached the glacier, but such lengths are perfect for fresh air as we barely feel any mountain pain. People from the agency forgot to pack sleeping bags, as we discussed, but Raul solved the problem in the mountains by giving my wife my own sleeping bag and arranging for the delivery of two more bags from campus the next day.
