Beach days allow us to lie on a towel enjoying the sunrise on the lake, the soothing sounds of the sand, the warmth on your skin, and time to relax and unwind. Thanks to Lake Michigan being nearby, there are many beautiful beaches to choose from. Douglas Beach Park in Douglas and Laketown Beach in Holland both offer free access, but if you don’t want to pay for a car, here are 7 great beaches near campus.
In addition to sunsets and days at the beach, Lake Michigan’s beautiful towns and lakes offer visitors and locals plenty of opportunities to sit back and watch the boats come and go. From small fishing boats to large yachts, you’ll see them out on the water one day and sailing, waving as they go.

Every Wednesday evening from May through September, the Gilmore Museum hosts Cruise-In Wednesday Nights where you can explore and enjoy a variety of colorful and beautiful cars.
