The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is unlike any other and is known as “America’s Mountain Zoo”. It is built right into the mountain and offers a spectacular view of Colorado Springs. We recommend using the Sky Ride folding chair to really enjoy the view. At 6,714 meters above sea level, this zoo is the highest in all of North America. It offers many exhibits, events and animal interactions, such as feeding goats, chickens and birds. But the crowd’s favorite activity is feeding the giraffes! Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s giraffe herd is world famous and is the largest zoo in North America. For a few dollars, you can buy a bunch of lettuce and make a giraffe use its long black tongue to eat it right out of your hand!

The North Pole is a charming vintage amusement park full of Christmas cheer. Located at the base of Pikes Peak, the North Pole is usually open from May to December and is only a 20-minute drive from Colorado Springs. This Christmas-themed amusement park has two dozen unique rides perfect for young families, and many are even kid-friendly. While at the North Pole, you can also catch a show with Elmer the Elf, visit Santa Claus and enjoy lots of sweet treats.

You can ice skate in Colorado Springs year-round at the indoor Sertich Ice Center. The center offers public skating, skating lessons for all abilities, and ice hockey leagues. Ride the world’s highest rack train. The Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway has been taking visitors to Pikes Peak since 1891. The three-and-a-half-hour round trip offers passengers spectacular views and incredible views as the train climbs more than 8,000 feet. to reach the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,115 feet. Once you’re at the top, take time to enjoy the spectacular views, then visit the new Pikes Peak Visitor Center before climbing back up the mountain.
Take some time to explore Historic Manitou Springs! There are tons of cute shops and restaurants to enjoy here, but kids will love visiting the Penny Arcade. Penny Arcade has over 400 arcade games and most of them cost as little as one penny to play. The arcade also has a small amusement park with rides that children can enjoy. After finishing at the arcade, enjoy a meal or taste the famous “healing” mineral waters, then drive to the Manitou Cliff Dwelling Museum. These amazing ruins are 800-1,000 years old. The whole family can explore, enter and even touch the house.
This indoor rock climbing facility is a great place for kids of all ages to have fun and get energized. Along with drop-in climbing, CityROCK also offers classes for children ages two and up and day camps for kids ages six and up. It also has a yoga studio and a fully equipped fitness and training area. Separate from the main climbing wall is a special play area for children under six called The Aerie. This fun play area has slides, cargo nets, low climbing walls and zip lines. When everyone is hungry from all the climbing, you can head straight to CityROCK’s restaurant, Ute & Yeti, for a delicious meal.
