It is the first sanctuary to create a home for its rescued animals. The sanctuary allows the animals to roam in wide open spaces and provides them with specialized care, rehabilitation, special diets and enrichment. All animals are large carnivores, rescued from abuse and abandonment or illegally owned and exploited. This means that all the animals in the sanctuary have never been bought, sold, traded or abused in any way.
The wildlife refuge offers private group tours for individuals and small groups. Your two-hour tour begins at the Visitor Center and ends at the Bolivian Lion House. Marche Sauvage will accompany you every step of the way. This tour will be accompanied by one of their Animal Ambassadors and will give you an insight into the history of the animal, its life before and after its rescue and the daily operations of the sanctuary. Tours are available 7 days a week during regular tour hours, but must be booked 48 hours in advance.
If you want to visit the sanctuary at your own pace and without a guide, you can do so for a donation of $30 per person for adults, $15 per child (3-12 years old) and free for children under 3 years old. The donation goes to cover the cost of your visit and then you are asked to make a donation that can go directly to the animal shelter.
