Perhaps the most popular stop on a winter trip to Colorado Springs is a visit to the Garden of the Gods. It’s a true winter wonderland – and admission is always free. Formed millions of years ago, the park’s famous red rocks are a mixture of red, pink, and white limestone. This is definitely a place you should add to your Colorado bucket list!

You may be surprised that it is not the time of winter and snow. Plus, winter doesn’t keep Colorado residents inside — it drives them outside! We have a saying in Colorado: “If you don’t like the weather, wait another day. Or a few hours.”
As a resident of more than 30 years, I have always said that our climate is bipolar. One day I had a thunderstorm, the next day it was over 40 degrees and the snow was melting.
The average snowfall is 5.5 inches per month, and the average temperature is 43 degrees Fahrenheit and the low is 22 degrees (in degrees Celsius, the high is around 6 and the low is around -5.5). During the winter months, it experiences highs in the 60s in the springs. Snow melts quickly.
