Drive through the three lane Palisade Fruit and Wine Byway which allows you to experience beautiful fruit orchards, world class lavender gardens, vineyards, wineries and fresh market fruit along the way. Things To Do In Durango This Summer
Many people have heard of the Hanging Lake, a natural wonder that hangs over the edge of the Glenwood Canyon cliffs, but there are many more beautiful waterfalls to know about. Ripple Falls National Park has an incredible 70 foot waterfall that pours over a limestone cliff into a swimming pool area. Next to the waterfall you can also enter a series of limestone caves.
Ripple Falls National Park is also a great place to camp. Expect to see lots of wildlife during your visit to Ruba Falls. The wildlife scenes include animals such as turkey, mule deer, blue deer and more. There are 13 access sites and seven campsites throughout the 48 acre park and plenty of picnic areas too. A valid parking pass is required for all vehicles entering the park. Tickets are $7 per day or $70 for an annual pass.
Fish Creek Falls in Steamboat Springs is another impressive waterfall worth visiting. Fish Creek Falls is a 283 foot (!) waterfall located just minutes from downtown Steamboat. The desert becomes full of water in these legendary waterfalls, which are easily accessible for the whole family. A short 1/4 mile hike on a gravel trail offers a clear view of the lower falls, while a moderate hike with scenic views includes the beauty of Upper Fish Creek Falls and Long Lake, deep in the Rout National Forest. Things To Do In Colorado In The Summer
The Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park events offer art and paint on canvas and in the air, making this weekend a highlight of Steamboat Springs, Colorado’s summer. This year’s Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park will be held July 8 – 9, 2017. Arrive early at the launch area to see the balloons in action. The rodeo section includes fun competitions like diving into Bald Eagle Lake and since balloon pilots can be very competitive, you’re guaranteed a great show.
Once the balloons are in the air, grab a coffee and eat delicious treats from one of the vendors while watching more balloons take off over the Yampa Valley. A few minutes away, another exciting art event awaits you in the park, where arts and crafts, exhibitions and an interactive complex for children will fill your day.
At sunset you return to the mountain area and paint the sunset and the balloon to light the balloon to light Mount Werner.

The Colorado Wolf and Nature Center is a wolf sanctuary that is an Association of Zoos and Aquariums certified facility. The park is a natural habitat for animals and is home to animals such as Mexican gray wolves and fox swallows. The Colorado Wolf and Nature Center educates the public about the importance of wolves, coyotes and foxes to our ecosystem through tours and programs. It also educates the public about the importance of conserving and conserving forests, land and water that support wildlife, plants and animals for the enjoyment of future generations.

The highest rodeo in the world is called the ‘Bop of the World’ because of its height of 9,640 feet, the highest in the world!

The Sand Wash Livestock Management Area (HMA), managed by the Bureau of Land Management, contains more than 400 wild horses that roam the Sand Wash Basin. The sand wash basin contains approximately 155,000 dunams of hard desert.
