It is a first-of-its-kind wildlife sanctuary that creates large-scale species-specific habitats for rescued animals. The sanctuary allows the animals to roam in large spaces and provides them with expert care, rehabilitation, exceptional diet and enrichment. All animals are large carnivores that have been abused, neglected, or illegally kept or exploited. This means that all animals at the sanctuary have never been bought, sold, traded, or mistreated.
The Wild Animal Sanctuary offers private group tours for individuals and small groups. Your two-hour tour begins at the Welcome Center and ends at the Bolivian Lion House. Their Mile Into The Wild Walkway will accompany you every step of your journey. The tour is led by one of their animal ambassadors to get a closer look at the animals, their stories and lives before and after the rescue, as well as the day-to-day activities at the sanctuary. Tours are available 7 days a week during normal business hours, but must be booked 48 hours in advance.
If you prefer to visit the sanctuary at your own pace and without a guide, you can do so for $30 per adult, $15 per child (ages 3-12), and free for children under 3. The donation goes toward the cost of your visit, and then they ask you to make a donation of some kind that can go directly to the animal rescue.
