Founded in 1873, the McGregor Ranch Museum provides an overview of the lives of three generations of McGregors. They are a residential family that helped develop Estes Park, and the museum is spread throughout the park.
Visitors are allowed to visit the root hall, lakes and other buildings that served the life of these pioneers. Along with the interactive experience, volunteers help explain the history of the area.

On my horse to Beaver Meadows we ran through the valley and through a beautiful forest. On the way there is a great view of the mountain. There are also rides for kids, such as the hayride that includes roasting marshmallows around the fire.
Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the best things to do in Colorado. But Estes Park also has great trails outside of the national park. If you want to avoid the crowds, go to Hermit Park Open Space. Or, explore hiking trails in the Indian Peaks Desert, home to some of Colorado’s best hiking trails.
