Located in Skyline Park, the family-friendly Christkindl Market is Denver’s version of a European Christmas market. Admission is free and the market remains open from November 18 to December 23. Local artisans and vendors from around the world, including Germany, Ukraine and Ireland, offer hand-carved sculptures, candles, ornaments and more for sale. Hear traditional Christmas carols and live German music. Traditional German food, mulled wine and hot chocolate are available for purchase.

The annual Grand Illumination kickoff event, held Nov. 26, features the lighting of the station’s 40-foot outdoor Mile Tall Tree, which features more than 7,000 holiday lights. Stay to meet Santa, hear classic holiday stories from the Denver Dolls, then enjoy a drink at Union Station’s Terminal Bar.
Also at Union Station, an outdoor light show called Merry & Bright Lights showcases mesmerizing visuals across the facade of Denver’s iconic train station. Created by local artists, this free exhibition will take place between November 27 and December 27 from until 10:00. every night
For free kid-friendly fun, stop by Union Station between 11 a.m. and 16.00. November 28, December 11 and December 18 see Father and Mrs. Claus.
