Although the larger city of Denver can be overwhelming at times, you’ll have plenty of time to explore this beautiful northern Colorado city.

I am from Colorado and would like to find a new job in Fort Collins. The area is full of scenic beauty, but the Rocky Mountains in Fort Collins are different from the rest of the state.

Old Town Fort Collins is a beautiful area and a popular place to spend an afternoon browsing the shops, stopping for coffee or ice cream, and people watching. The man responsible for Disneyland’s Main Street in America grew up here and used the buildings in downtown Fort Collins as part of his inspiration for Disneyland’s design. Downtown Fort Collins is an easy walk, but there are also classic streetcars and modern buses to get around as well.

🛎️ Do you need a hotel? The Armstrong Hotel is located in Old Town Fort Collins and opened in the 1920s. It is within walking distance of breweries and restaurants that preserve the old town feel of the area. This is one of the best places to stay in Fort Collins.

Go old school and visit one of Colorado’s smaller theaters. Holiday Drive-In features current releases on two screens. They also have snacks and cook food for sale on weekends.

Horsetooth Reservoir is a popular spot in Fort Collins for all-day outdoor recreation. The dam has everything from hiking trails to mountain bike trails, fishing spots and swimming spots. There is also camping, so you can reserve a spot and stay longer by the pool.

From the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space to the beautiful trails of the Poudre River Canyon, there are many great hiking trails around Fort Collins and Northern Colorado. Roosevelt National Forest also has many trails. Your biggest problem is collecting just one.

Rafting is a great activity in Colorado and you can try it on the Cache la Poudre River in Fort Collins. The Cache la Poudre River is less popular for rafting than other Colorado rivers, which means you’ll be less crowded. Check out Mountain Whitewater, a local guide company that offers a variety of trips.

Fort Collins is known for its craft beer, so spend an afternoon (or longer…we won’t judge) and check out some of the craft breweries that have popped up in the area.

New Belgium Brewing Company has been great, while Odell Brewing Company has been growing in Fort Collins since 1989.

Horseback riding through the Roosevelt National Forest is one of the things you can do in Fort Collins that you and your family or loved ones will remember for a long time. Beaver Meadows Stable offers rides from an hour and for children rides from half an hour. This is a fun and exciting way to spend an afternoon in the mountains outside of Fort Collins.

Fort Collins is home to Colorado State University, and the school maintains an annual flower garden where students and researchers can conduct horticultural research. So – lucky guy! – you can view their products for free. The beautiful gardens are open to the public so you can stroll through and experience the unique challenges of Rocky Mountain gardening. Or just look at the beautiful flowers you have.

Amazing Things To Do In Colorado In Winter Besides Ski

Learn about the history of humans and their contributions to science, music, astronomy and more at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. The Music and Sound Lab teaches the science of sound and lets you play a variety of instruments. The Schatz Family Exploration Zone teaches kids about light, color, movement and more in a kid-friendly way.

Take the kids to see the farm animals and learn about farm life at Lee Martinez Park. There is also horse riding and hands-on experience where they learn how to take care of these animals on a daily basis. Poudre River Park is a great place to picnic and relax.

Fun Things To Do In Golden Co That Won’t Break The Bank

This highway begins in Fort Collins, passes through Cache la Poudre Canyon, and continues to Walden. The journey takes about 2 hours 15 minutes if you drive straight, but if you have time to stop and enjoy the views, I recommend a three hour drive.

City Park has an outdoor pool with a lazy river, slides and water features, perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. Fishing and rowing boats are also available on Lake Sheldon. Visit a model of the Statue of Liberty in the park or take a guided tour of the arboretum.

Best Neighborhoods In Fort Collins, Co

The Gardens at Spring Creek is a community botanical garden that includes a visitor center, gift shop, butterfly house, pavilion, and beautiful lawns. There are many themed gardens, including a children’s garden, a rose garden and a food garden, and a Dr. Seuss and sandbox kids will love it.

Franklin Avery was a great Fort Collins man. At the end of the 19th century, he surveyed the city and was responsible for the beautiful and wide streets of the city. He also founded the First National Bank and helped with projects that enabled agriculture in the region. Visit the house he built for his family, made of sandstone from local quarries and eventually became Queen Anne’s Tower.

The Bee Family Centenary Farm Museum shows how the Bee family struggled to make a living farming in the dry climate of northern Colorado. Visitors will learn about the history and importance of irrigation in the region, the importance of sugarcane cultivation and the care of farm animals. On a side note: Bee is the name of the family that farmed here – there are no bee colonies in the country!
