Free Things To Do In Colorado Today
This city park deserves national recognition, with its stunning red sandstone formations – crashes, towers and giants – making it a scenic spot for a leisurely (or not) stroll. Get up at a certain point and you’ll see Pikes Peak framed between kissing camels. It’s amazing especially when there is snow on the mountain.

Check out the Visitor Information Center for advice on hiking, rock climbing, wildlife encounters and free programs. Ranger-led talks and wellness walks are among the many offerings. Don’t be surprised to see a group of Olympic cyclists training daily. Plan to walk.
Remember that the wildlife think the park belongs to them. Don’t walk alone, always have water with you, and don’t pick wildflowers.
This National Landmark military installation is open to visitors from time to time. Drive through the area. Visit the architecturally significant Pantheon Church. (Although currently closed for updates.)
A 31,000 square foot visitor center and museum and even a short scenic hike can be taken to view the exhibits. From time to time, the planetarium is open to the public for stargazing.
Free Things You Gotta Do This April In Denver
Housed in a beautifully preserved 1903 El Paso County Courthouse, the museum features a permanent collection of local history and fascinating temporary exhibits ranging from art to local cultural landmarks. The museum also hosts fun family events and sponsors several downtown events like the Festival of Lights each holiday season. Historic lectures and other events are posted monthly on its website.

The former El Bomer Crew House Museum is located in the Broadmoor Hotel complex, next to the underground car park. This little-visited spot was opened in 1941 by the hotel’s founder, Spencer Penrose, and features horse-drawn carriages, wagons, wagons, and automobiles driven by local dignitaries from the early 1920s and several U.S. presidents.
A permanent display of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb is included, featuring the unique cars from the world famous race, as well as a handy collection of plaques detailing its sometimes terrifying history.

With panoramic views of Denver and a reputation as one of the best concert halls in the world, the Red Rocks Amphitheater is a true wonder of Mother Nature. Formed from two sandstone monoliths, Ship Rock and Creature Rock, the amphitheater has hosted some of the world’s biggest rock stars on its stage.
The best part is that if there is no concert, learning is absolutely free. Embrace your inner rock star as you stand on a stage graced by bands such as U2, The Blues Brothers, The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen, or marvel at the naturally shaped and acoustically perfect amphitheater of the event.
Around the amphitheater you will often find people practicing yoga, hiking or running. You may have to climb some stairs to get to the Red Rocks platform, but we think it’s worth it for the amazing views.

When visiting Red Rocks, it would be remiss not to visit the nearby Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Located in the Red Rocks Amphitheater Visitor Center, CMHOF tells visitors about the incredible musicians who have helped shape Denver’s music scene.
Admission is free (though donations are welcome) and the museum is open daily (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during events from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Free candies? Yes please! A Denver company since 1920, Hammond’s Candy Factory offers free tours where visitors can see behind the scenes how Hammond’s classic lollipops, candies and other candies are pulled and stretched into the treats we’ve come to love.
The best part is the free chocolate samples as part of the tour. Hammonds conducts these tours every half hour during business hours and last approximately thirty minutes.
Things You Must Do In Colorado Springs!
On a hot summer evening, the sounds of jazz are in the air; If you’re looking for the perfect Sunday night activity on a budget, check out the City Park Summer Jazz series – the concerts are free! Concerts take place every Sunday from the end of June to the beginning of August from 6:00 p.m.
Pack a picnic mat and basket of goodies, or eat from the on-site food trucks (there’s a huge selection, from pizza and ice cream to Indian and Thai cuisine). Or listen to music for free.
While Denver is famous for its craft beer scene, a trip to Coors Brewery, the world’s largest brewery, is not to be missed, especially if you can take a behind-the-scenes tour. Learn about the brewing process and company history dating back to 1873, when Adolf Coors discovered pure spring water in the mountains.
The best part? The tour concludes with complimentary beer samples for those with legal liquor requirements. Prime! Stay as long as you want and there is a gift shop. Only one free visit is allowed per person per day.
Free Things To Do Throughout Colorado This Weekend Before Spring Break Ends
Although there is usually a fee to visit the impressive Denver Botanical Gardens, admission is free on certain days through a joint effort of the Science and Culture District.
York Street and Chatfield Farm have free entry days throughout the year, so check the Botanical Gardens website to find out which dates you can enjoy the gardens for free.
Perhaps ironically, the US Mint in Denver doesn’t cost a penny to see the mint. Free 45-minute tours are offered to see how money is made and learn about the history of American coins.
