This summer, Snowmass Bike Park is continuing a multi-year course expansion project in partnership with Gravity Logic. Once completed, the expansion project will result in nine new trails in the 14.4-mile area that cater to riders of all levels, from beginners to experts.

The first of the new trails, Gonzo, will be billed as the hardest freeride trail similar to the Valhalla Experience and will extend 0.7 miles to the right of the Valhalla Trail for riders. The second course will include a mile of mountain biking from Valhalla and will be billed as the more difficult freeride course. The third course is 0.7 miles from Viking and is rated the hardest single track. Trial will include the SBP Race Series track on Tuesday evening.

The Snowmass Bike Park will be open every day for the 2019 summer season starting June 21st and ending on September 2nd. Weekend operations will start from 6 September to 6 October, including Friday. Additionally, Snowmass Bike Park will add an additional hour of operation in the summer of 2019, opening at 9am and closing at 4pm.

Demo Days The Snowmass Demo Days return June 29-30 with a two-day sponsored cycling event at the Snowmass Base Village. Bike enthusiasts are encouraged to get out there and discover the latest bike equipment offered by the exhibitors. Demonstrate mountain bikes, road bikes, downhill bikes, fat bikes, or try out the latest parts and accessories on the trails at Snowmass Bike Park, over 80 miles of cross-country trails, or on the trails connecting Aspen and Rio Grande Between.

Daily summer snow operations will resume during shareholder week June 21-30 for all valid 2018-19 winter passes, including Premier, Flex, Double Flex, Classic, School, Mountain Collective and Icon. New this summer, Access Owner Week will be expanded to include a bonus weekend. Passholder Week offers free access to Lost Forest base including the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster and Rugged Ascent Climbing Wall plus one free day access to Snowmass Bike Park, Lost Forest full and high access and 50% off rental of bicycles on the descent. Mountain Biking For Beginners: It’s All Downhill From Here

Now in its second year, the Snowmass Bike Park race series is expanding to six events in 2019. The SBP Race Series will be held on Tuesday, July 9-August. 13. Audi Power Quad Mountain Bike Race Update This year Aspen Snowmass recreates the Audi Power Quad Mountain Bike Race with a new course that takes advantage of one of the best trails in the valley. The new course on Saturday August 17 will consist of a 25-mile loop, starting and finishing at the Snowmass Base Village. Riders will ride the Rim Trail to Seven Star, then transition to the Sky Mountain Park Trail System, connect with the Tom Blake Trail, use various trails in Snowmass such as Expresso and Cross Mountain, and finish at the Village Bound Snowmass Base. The split will be divided into a 50-mile solo race (two laps), a 25-mile solo race (one lap), and a 50-mile two-person race with each rider completing a 25-mile lap. Big Mountain Enduro Finals Return to Aspen Snowmass Aspen Snowmass will once again host the Big Mountain Enduro (BME) Mountain Bike Finals. August 17-18, 2019. The two day event is a mix of high altitude and downhill. The best ride in the area. The field of competitors is expected to include many pro riders and the competition course will see the addition of new trails as well as cover Aspen Mountain Crossing, Snowmass Bike Park and surrounding trails within the valley. Aspen Mountain and Snowmass Bike Park is the only lift-serviced bike park in the United States that can take riders on a 4,000-foot descent from tree line to high-mountain desert. The riders will experience five to six stages, 12,000m of descent and 3,000m of ascent.
