When most people think of things to do in Breckenridge, skiing is the first thing that comes to mind. Part of the Ten Mile range, Peak 8 is a major attraction in the Breckenridge ski area, with terrain parks and plenty of options for intermediate and advanced skiers. The station also offers lessons for all levels.

The best trip with kids (or, let’s face it, anyone who rides a wagon) is to visit Isaac Heartstone. The carriage-shaped wooden sculpture was created as part of the Breckenridge Arts Festival and now sits at the end of the short path.
You can visit year round, but the trail is not maintained in the winter, so be prepared for lots of snow. This is one of the most popular things to do in Breckenridge, so during peak times to visit Breckenridge, you may have to wait a few minutes to do it yourself with Isaac.

Great Activities For Kids This Summer In Breckenridge, Colorado
You can cross-country ski at Gold Run Nordic Center, which is just outside of town, or at Breckenridge Nordic Center, which is near the ski area. Both centers rent skis and snowshoes and offer lessons. The Breckenridge Nordic Center also has a lodge and a restaurant.

A fat tire all-terrain bike designed for winter conditions, fat biking is a great winter activity in Breckenridge. You can ski any of the slopes at the Gold Run Nordic Center, and the center also offers lessons, day trips, and full moon excursions.

Edwin Carter was one of many people who traveled to Breckenridge to try to make a fortune panning for gold. But unlike many miners, he worried about the negative impact the industry was having on the region’s flora and fauna.
