The Colorado State Fair is back, and the centenary celebration is packed with special events and attractions, including Sandscapes’ 150-ton Colorado State Fair sand sculpture, the creation of the world’s largest scale, U.S. Equestrian Championships, and the history of Colorado Horse Power. an exhibition and a commemorative fireworks display at the end of Labor Day celebrations. Are mid-term elections, a divided nation, COVID and climate change driving you crazy? Don’t expect all of this to go away anytime soon, but a new moon meeting and sunset bath at the Eldorado Springs Center for the Arts will soothe your troubled brows for at least one night. Drummer Scott Pridden and practitioner Meg Krug perform sonic TLC in a one-hour meditative sound bath performed with singing bowls and other resonating musical instruments in a sculpture garden. When Glenn Kurtz discovered a piece of 16mm film shot by his grandfather during a trip to Poland in 1938, he discovered a world of stories hidden in the smiling faces of members of the Jewish community in Nasilsk, Poland. A year later, the same inhabitants were deported and eventually ended up in the Treblinka concentration camp. Kurtz turned documentaries into books, which in turn inspired filmmaker Bianca Stigter to follow in his footsteps, capturing human life in every frame. Mistakes People Make When Visiting Denver
