Although Breckenridge can be fished year-round, there’s nothing quite like a warm, sunny day on the river. If you have tackle, make sure you have a Colorado fishing license and be prepared! If not, rent gear and take lessons or visit one of the many fishing shops in town. One of our favorite places to fish in the summer is along Lower Iroquois Lake or the Blue River, where you can catch Colorado’s national fish, the cutthroat trout.
Stand-up paddleboarding is one of the most popular summer pastimes, and for good reason! Whether you’re training in the deep with a paddle or relaxing in the sun, make it a day to relax on the water. Try paddling at Maggie Pool for an easy paddle perfect for beginners, or a SUP yoga class if you’re in good shape.
Take part in one of BreckCreate’s creative workshops or classes in clay throwing, woodworking, glassblowing or jewelry making. Local artists work on the Art District campus and offer studio hours and classes for visitors to observe or learn about their work.
