There are so many things to see! After all, Colorado has a group of valleys, deserts, and mountains that go back hundreds of thousands of years. And you know what, before we talk about historical pueblos and epic cities.

Rocky Mountain National Park, just northwest of the capital city of Denver, is one of the best places in Colorado if you want to get away from the city.
It’s so beautiful, especially with incredible roads like Trail Ridge Road, it’s amazing. As I said, there are also hiking trails to explore this incredible landscape on foot.
For example, the Emerald Lake trail is beautiful, and Bear Lake (and the beginning of the Bear Lake trail) is a must-visit!
Black Canyon (Gunnison National Park) on the west side of Colorado is home to moose, golden eagles, deer and of course the famous Black Canyon.

The Black Canyon, with its steep cliffs and sharp drops, is a breathtaking and quite impressive sight! It is also known for the rugged Painted Wall, the tallest rock in Colorado. To me, this is one of the underrated national parks that many people overlook (which is a huge shame).
Once here, be sure to visit not only the South Territory, but also the Northern Territory. Of course, there are a few hiking trails while you’re here, but it’s also easy to get around if you want to visit stops on the South Shore.
Here you’ll see the Pulpit Rock Lookout, amazing views of the painted wall, and the Gunnison Point Lookout (just to name a few). This is so cute.
If you’re in the mood for a little city break, stopping in Denver is one of the best things to do while exploring Colorado. You see, it’s huge (by Colorado city standards) and has a lot of interesting and historic sites that are perfect for a weekend getaway.
