At the top of the list of Denver’s best attractions is the Colorado State Capitol. This neoclassical building was built in his 1890s and is home to the Colorado State Legislature and Governor’s Office.
If the building looks a little familiar, it’s because it was built to resemble the US Capitol in Washington, D.C. It is made of white granite and is topped with a gold dome to commemorate Colorado’s gold rush.

Hikes Just 30 Minutes From Denver, Colorado

This city park and outdoor amphitheater is a great place for walking, biking and watching live music. In fact, Red Rocks consistently tops lists of the best concert venues in America.
I’ve seen a lot of concerts in various places, but it’s really hard to beat Red Rocks. So the stage here is he’s set between two giant sandstone formations.

Red Rocks is actually in the small town of Morrison, about a 30 minute drive from downtown Denver. On non-event days, the park opens one hour before sunrise and closes one hour before sunset.

Nature lovers will definitely want to add the Botanical Gardens to their list of places to visit in Denver. This large park spans 23 acres in the heart of Denver, creating a green oasis in the middle of the growing city.
With over 45 different gardens, there’s plenty to see. Over 30,000 kinds of plants! This is definitely one of Denver’s top attractions and a place not to be missed when visiting the city.

Park highlights include a tranquil Japanese garden, a tropical greenhouse, and an alpine rock garden.
There is so much to see and do here that you could easily spend a day exploring the large Cheeseman Park with its gardens and gardens.

Denver and my hometown of Detroit are the only places downtown where you can watch basketball, football, hockey and baseball.
Denver is home to the Broncos (NFL), Rockies (MLB), Nuggets (NBA) and Avalanche (NHL). The Broncos play miles at his high, with his eight regular season games between September and January.
People are so into the soccer team here that it’s really fun to be a part of it.
Great Day Hikes From Denver
Nuggets and Avs play their home game at his Pepsi center. Both sports have regular seasons from he October through he April, so there are plenty of opportunities to watch games throughout the fall and winter.
Watching a hockey or basketball game is one of the best things to do in Denver in the winter.
The Rockies play at Coors Field and have frequent home games in the spring and summer. No matter which team you watch, catching up on a game is one of the best things you can do in downtown Denver.
It may seem a little strange that the train station is on the top list of Denver attractions, but hear us out. The history of Union Station dates back to 1914.
