Colorado Mountain Biking Resort – There are over 6,000 mountain bike trails in Colorado. Most are multi-purpose, meaning they must be shared with hikers, trail runners, and sometimes horses. None of the streets are served by dedicated bicycle parking with lifts. Two bikers want to change that.
Phil Bouchard and Jason Evans are the founders of Shadow Mountain Bike Park. They have been working on the bike park for two years and hope to open in the summer of 2023.

The idea for the bike park was born when they noticed a gap in the multi-purpose trail area. Multi-use trails can create conflict between users, so a dedicated mountain bike area can alleviate that to some extent. In addition, it makes people happier and reduces pressure on the public justice system.

Details of the 230-acre park include an 830-foot vertical lift that provides access to nearly 16 miles of trails. The land is undeveloped and ideal, in part because it belongs to state land trusts.
