The best way to learn about ski resort management is to experience it yourself. Drive a snowplow. Help build a new ski slope. Repair the gondola. Colorado Mountain College’s majestic backdrop and hands-on philosophy allow you to stay active on some of America’s most famous slopes.

Thanks to mandatory internships, students can choose any winter destination in the world. Interns receive a regular salary and can expect direction and supervision from ski resort management and Colorado Mountain Academy Ski Resort Operations Instructors. During their internship, many students create connections that lead directly to employment.

You’ll practice your snowmaking skills right outside the classroom at Holland’s Henry Hill, a training ground for local competitors. On campus, the 18 km cross-country trail and the adjacent 20 km Mineral Belt trail offer the opportunity to study Nordic activities and event management.

More than 90% of the graduates of the ski center’s activity program find a job and a career in the field within a year. 80% of them improved their employment status within 2-3 years of employment. Thanks to their in-depth knowledge of ski center operations and management, graduates are often promoted faster and to higher positions than those who learned on the field.

The ski resort management software allows you to know and work on your favorite mountains! Our selection process allows you to choose the field that interests you the most and prepare you for the job of your dreams. Darren Brungardt is a math teacher at CMC Leadville. In 2012, he earned a master’s degree in coaching from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado.

Brungardt runs the club in trail and snowshoe races from 2 to 100 miles with CMC’s XC team. He coaches professionally at the college and high school level, including football fitness coordinator, cross country coach and all track and field except pole vault and hurdles.

While earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Coach Brengart also managed the Division I field for the Bears. He competed in the 5,000m and 10,000m, received three college acceptance letters and was a four-year scholar athlete.

Angela Dunn is a former NJCAA athlete and member of the 2006 NJCAA DIII National Championship Women’s Cross Country Team.

He earned an AA in Psychology from Gloucester County College before transferring to Rowan University where he competed in NCAA Division III and received a BA in Psychology. In 2012, Angela returned to Gloucester County Academy to begin her coaching career alongside the varsity coaches.

In its first year, the women’s cross country team won the NJCAA DIII Nationals. After college, Angela competed in numerous road and track races, including the 2017 Boston Marathon.

In 2017, Angela moved from New Jersey to West Colorado to start the New Castle Running Club. A year later, he graduated with a master’s degree in sports psychology. She wrote a thesis on the underrepresentation of women in college coaching.
