The CMC Ski Team mission runs parallel tracks to the CMC academic mission. As a member of the Colorado Mountain College Ski Team, an athlete has two options to consider. The first option, they can ski for four years while finishing high school. Another option is to ski for two years while completing your associate’s degree, then transfer to another four-year institution, join a new team, and make an immediate impact.
Leadership is not just limited to the world of athletics. CMC hopes that its graduating athletes will continue to excel in the classroom as well as contribute as members of the university community beyond the confines of the campus.

The five-day United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Collegiate Championships are held in Lake Placid, N.Y. It’s underway and nearly 500 competitors are preparing to compete for the collegiate national titles in alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding and freestyle.
The USCSA is the only ski and snowboard league where colleges and universities compete and qualify for postseason competition as a team. The emphasis on team performance has moved away from the typical individual points or FIS World Cup format often found in skiing and snowboarding, allowing the entire team to qualify for the USCSA National Collegiate Championships. This format allows for a large number of competitors, with over 200 alpine, 200 freestyle skiing and snowboarding and 100 Nordic athletes competing this week.
“It is always a pleasure for the USCSA to come to Lake Placid,” said USCSA Executive Director Alec Tandara-Kuhns. “Between the historic location, the flexible and friendly event staff, and the proximity to most teams, the Lake Placid Nationals were instant classics.”
