Things To Do In Silverthorne, Colorado • Nomads With A Purpose
On this trip we rode a train in a huge cave, raised a giraffe, played on a water slide, explored nature, climbed a mountain, swam in a giant pool, ate at a delicious restaurant and jogged through a former elementary school.
It was an amazing experience and since my son Cole and I are representing the family on this trip, we are already having so much fun together to have the opportunity to strengthen our good relationship. . Read on to see our top picks for family fun!
So what are some of our favorite kids activities in Colorado Springs? Well, the first day we took the train on Pikes Peak, the most visited mountain in North America. Then we walked through God’s beautiful garden. We then dive deep into the Cave of the Winds and we dine and visit MagiQuest at the Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs. And that’s just a fraction of our time.
Before we went to Colorado Springs, we had the opportunity to visit the Cañon area. Just over an hour from Colorado Springs and west of Canon, the best rafting destination in the state. Not only did we go wet whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River, we also checked out the newly opened Royal Gorge Dinosaur experience. We also had the opportunity to spend the night at the newly built Royal Gorge Cabins. If you’re curious, check out our family’s experience in Cañon City Colorado here. Even so, an overnight stay in the Cañon was only a small part of our Colorado family trip.

The second day, we ate breakfast and a plate at the renovated Ivywild School, fed the giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and finally relaxed in class and comfort at the spacious Cheyenne Mountain Resort.
