Country Boy Mine allows visitors to descend into the mine to learn how it works underground every day. Bring warm clothes, even in summer, when mine is a constant 45 degrees. The tour is every hour on the hour and the underground part takes about 45 minutes.
After the tour, you can stay as long as you want and pan for gold in the pool and nearby areas. And of course, whatever you find is yours to keep! There is also a slide, which is popular with both children and adults.

Breckenridge Ski Resort offers a mountain bike school that is a must for anyone looking to ride the trails of Breckenridge, especially if you are new to Colorado mountain biking.
Similar to ski school, this class is taught at the skill level and includes guided downhill running. Learn how to ride the terrain you will encounter on the Breckenridge trails, such as rocks, bridges and loose dirt. It also helps to learn how to do switchbacks up and down, which can have a sharp drop-off.
The exercise area at the top of Peak 8 is open to everyone and also includes a pump track. The city of Breckenridge also has a pump rink in the ice arena.
Experienced cyclists can hire an instructor as a trail guide. Not a bad idea, especially if you want to let your adventurous teen go without having to hit a more advanced path.

The Iowa Hill Mine Trail is an easy 1.2 mile loop that contains the remains of various mining equipment. Signs along the route tell the story of the mine and the miners who worked there.
The Sawmill Creek Trail is an easy 1.5-mile hike that ends at a mountaintop reservoir where people fish and stand-up paddleboard.

The McCullough Gulch Trail is a bit longer (2.8 miles) and more strenuous, but well worth it. The trail goes through sculpted mountains to glacial lakes and waterfalls. Marmots and picas are a common site along the cliffs.
Visit Breckenridge Stables and choose your horse to ride in the sun. Trail rides go out several times a day and are great for families because unlike many other barns, this one has options for the whole family.
Trail rides are 90 minutes long and take place between Peaks 9 and 10 above Breckenridge. Children aged three and under can ride double with their parents. Four and five-year-olds can ride their own horses, which are led by an employee with a rope. If you are six or more, you can ride your own gentle horse on the course.
If you prefer not to ride, buy horse treats at check-in and feed the resting horses. With new snow this week and more next week, spring skiing is great at Breckenridge Ski Resort.
