This is an undisputed ultra-classic of the Boulder and Denver area. An hour’s drive to Clear Creek Canyon near the small town of Idaho Springs, Clear Creek offers Class II through Class V rafting for kids, adults and families. Novice riders must be at least 7 years old for class II to III sprints, and 15 years old for intermediate riders for class III to V speed races. Never rafted? No experience necessary! Even for intermediate level. There is more age-specific sensitivity for each participant in the middle level. Along Clear Creek we will have the opportunity to explore remnants of Colorado’s gold mining past as we pass under bridges and aqueducts that were once the heart of the Colorado gold rush. In this adventure, you will want to learn about the past history of gold mining and, if possible, experience a little for yourself. Those who want to know if they can find gold in areas that were once rich in precious metals can easily search for Stonex, a company with a geographic location. You can try it here or somewhere else with proven gold production. Who knows what the future holds for these historic areas.
