Take a ride on the world’s highest railway. The Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway has been transporting visitors to Pikes Peak since 1891. This three and a half hour round trip offers breathtaking and incredible views of the landscape as the train climbs over 8,000 feet. reaching the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,115 feet. Once you’ve reached the top, take some time to enjoy the beautiful view and then visit the new Pikes Peak Visitor Center before heading back up the mountain.

Spend some time exploring historic Manitou Springs! There are plenty of shops and restaurants here, and kids especially love visiting the Penny Arcade. Penny Arcade has over 400 arcade games and some of them are even paid. The arcade also has a small playground where children can have fun. After you’re done with the arcade, grab a snack or sample the “healing” mineral water, then drive to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings Museum. These beautiful ruins are 800-1000 years old. The whole family can explore, enter and even touch the house.

This indoor climbing area is a great place to keep the kids entertained and recharged every day. In addition to rock climbing, CityROCK also offers courses for children ages two and up, as well as day camps for children ages six and up. They also have a yoga studio and are full of strength and training. Separated from the main climbing wall is the Aerie, a playground for children under the age of six. This amusement park has slides, loading ramps, climbing walls and zip lines. If everyone is hungry from climbing, you can walk straight to CityROCK, Ute & Yeti for a delicious lunch.

When you return from the city, you can play above ground on our legendary Wind Walker Challenge course. Need more excitement? Try the Bat-A-Pult! This 1,200-foot plane flies over Williams Forest at 40 miles per hour!

Is there a beginner foodie in your family? Enjoy the culinary delights of downtown Colorado Springs on a food tour. Rocky Mountain Food Tours (we are!) offer a fun and exciting way to explore a variety of restaurants in just a few hours. Our original food tour is family-friendly, we offer a discount for ages 5-12.
