When most people think of things to do in Breckenridge, the first thing that comes to mind is skiing. Part of the Ten Mile Range, Peak 8 is a big draw at Breckenridge Ski Resort, with a terrain park and plenty of options for intermediate and advanced skiers. The resort also has classes for all levels.

This is one of the more expensive ski resorts in Colorado, but it offers on-site dining and lodging, excellent customer service, and plenty of amenities.

One of the most fun events with kids (or, let’s face it, anyone who likes trolls) is visiting Isak’s Heart Stone. The troll-like wooden sculpture was created as part of the annual Breckenridge Arts Festival, and now sits at the end of the short walkway.

You can ski at the Gold Run Nordic Center, just outside of town, or at the Breckenridge Nordic Center, which is close to the downhill ski area. Both centers rent skis and snowshoes and also offer lessons. Breckenridge Nordic Center also has a lodge and restaurant.
