The Southern Colorado Classic returns in 2023. The Cripple Creek Snow Festival begins open weekend on Saturday, February 18th. The festival runs until February 26. or until the pictures melt, so don’t miss it! This event is a competition to showcase the best ice artists in the country and the best teams in the country to compete. What To Do In Colorado This Weekend
Mardi Gras On Tuesday, February 21, Manitou Springs will celebrate with the community Mardi Gras parade, which will be held for the 30th time this year. The event, which will take place on Saturday, February 18, at 1:00 p.m., is free and open to the public. Best Things To Do In Colorado This Weekend, Feb. 24 26, 2023
Now in its 7th year in the small mountain town of Frisco, CO, this event continues to grow in popularity. The Frisco Freeze Fatbike Race will be held on Saturday the 18th at 3:00 p.m. The 14k run takes cyclists around the trails of the Frisco Nordic Center to avoid single dirt roads, and is 7K. A race for juniors with a total of one lap of the race. Registration fees for adults start at $45. Learn more here

In this article, I’m sharing the best things to do in Denver! You’ll never run out of fun things to do in Denver, but we’re going to focus on twelve that we think are worth your time in this great city!
Everyone knows Denver as the Mile High City because of its elevation of 5,280 feet above sea level. It is also the capital of Colorado, as well as the most populous city in the state. We also found out that it was the best place to live in the United States through US Report and World Report.
We can see why it ranks well among other cities in the country. Denver is a progressive city with many open spaces and opportunities for an active lifestyle, a big city, many cultural activities and good food (they just filmed the 15th episode of Top Chef).
Best Things To Do In Colorado This Weekend: Aug. 26 28, 2022
That being said, Denver’s altitude makes it difficult for some people. People with asthma and other health conditions can’t do well here, and bakers have a lot of time to get the bread to rise properly (it’s an art form!).
We don’t have any serious medical conditions and we don’t plan on baking during our yearlong trip around the world, so Denver was the perfect place to stay and enjoy the city.
Our home while in Denver was the city’s famous Brown Palace Hotel. The Brown Palace is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Denver, and they were celebrating their 125th anniversary when we were there. If you’re wondering where to stay in Denver for a variety of activities, Brown Palace is it!
We found the Brown Palace Hotel to be special for many reasons. The exterior architecture was very modern for its time, built of flat or triple-faced stone. They have kept the original space with a beautiful entrance that leads to a beautiful reception room with interior corridors, beautiful baked goods and arches and special lighting.
What To Do In Summit Country Colorado
Brown Palace Hotel also has several restaurants: Ship Tavern, Ellyingtons, Palace Arms, as well as two lounges. They offer afternoon tea (a true Brit will be delighted) and a Dom Perignon Sunday Champagne brunch. We appreciate that chefs are making an effort to use local and sustainable ingredients to create interesting dishes.
Since the Brown Palace is located in the heart of the city, it was a great place to start each day of our exploration of Denver. Let’s take a look at some of the best things we found to do in Denver….
